Hello, I'm Andy McNab. I'm so pleased that so many of you are enjoying logging onto Battleseen. It’s a great success. A big thank you too for those of you who have shared your videos, stories and experiences on the site. Keep 'em coming! It's your contributions that really bring home what it's like to be out on the frontline or to know that your loved ones are out there fighting. In fact, it would be great to hear more of your views and experiences. It doesn't matter if you are in the Army, Navy, Airforce. Or even a family member back home. If you are sending us video, what about sending us the story behind it? Your stories are important to us.
I want to hear from all sorts of bloggers. Maybe there are some civilians reading this who are witnessing what is happening. Any freelance reporters who want their work on the web? Here is the place to log it. I'm sure lots of other Battleseen fans would agree that the more information there is, the more we get to understand what’s happening.

For this reason, we have just launched a Blog area so we can all chat some more. Take a look at it, by clicking on the Blogs link above and give us your feedback on anything you feel strongly about. I will be writing a regular blog with my own views and opinions on what’s happening on the frontline, so keep checking back.

I couldn't agree more. I love the site, and I m hoping to see the forum on your home site working soon as well!

I send the battleseen link to all my mates in the army, and ex-army and they in their turn did the same. So I assure you, there is a large Belgium fangroup in the making!

If you really are McNab, then thanx for the books, best I've red, keep on writing! I red SAS Commando and B20 when I was 16. 2 Years later I joined the army, dragging my the old books with me to basecamp...

Cheers, de mazzel!

Just come across your site. its well laid out and the vids are good. Over 30 years ago our paths crossed you where a cocky londoner and just starting out in juniors.I remember you helping a guy put his webbing together he hadn't a clue.you were very patient with him it was something that was over and above what was expected of you, as you also had only been there a short time yourself. I thought then what a topman.
we both ended up as juniorleader NCOs. i went on to the 1st btn, we briefly crossed paths again on a railway station, you were with the young lady we met when we were in folkestone(i think you married her? ).it was a quick hello and goodbye i think i was off to hong kong, we lost touch.
many years later i was reading this book, a great read (immediate action) by this bloke called mcnab who was in juniors the same time as me. but i could not at first work it out who the man was. On a visit to a reunion i came across a guy who transferred over from the juniorleaders paras to RGJ. i asked him was this andy mcnab chap the guy we were both with in boy soldiers. he confirmed it was. i then read bravo two zero.
A true Hero.
well done mate.

Hi Andy I have enjoyed watching the videos. I guess my first question to you has be regarding the SA80A2. I have used both the A1, which was total pants, and the much improved A2 version. However I've always felt that the SA80 should never have been overhauled in the first place and should have been scrapped, with the G36 taking it's place. Do you accept this arguement? The problems I feel the SA80 has had is a result of it's overall poor design and build. For example, no left hand conversion kit, weapon needs cleaning far too many times and no proper safety/semi/auto selector switch instead a crappy plastic push button plunger for safe/non-safe and a separate switch for semi/full auto. If the SAS/SBS still outright refuse to use the SA80A2 they wont don't the politicians listen to the best trained troops in the world and scrap this weapon in favour of an H&K rifle?

Cant wait till the movie comes out, the book (like all the rest) was awesome. Are you making a whole series of Nick Stone movies? They will make James Bond look like a public schoolboy puff!!
